About

Welcome to Software Thug Tech. This blog is my study log while preparing for a technical software architecture role.

What This Is

Every post takes one subject or one interview question you are likely to get in an architecture interview and works through it the way a strong candidate would: what the interviewer is really probing, the gotchas that trip people up, the trade-offs that separate a thoughtful answer from a memorized one, and a concrete way to structure your response.

Topics include system design, distributed systems, data modeling, scalability, reliability, security, cloud architecture, and the behavioral and leadership questions that come with a senior role.

About Me

I’m Michael Masters, a software developer who has spent years building and shipping systems and is now sharpening the architecture side of the craft. My general-purpose blog lives at softwarethug.com.
